Q. Buying a used copier seems risky. What assurances can you give us?

A. Buying any item which is previously owned can be unnerving. Let us try to put your mind at ease. Since leasing is so prevalent in the copier business most users only keep their copier about 26 to 32 months. Then their aggressive dealer upgrades them to a new one at roughly the same monthly cost. This creates a tremendous opportunity for buyers like you to purchase their copier which in many cases has only been used for 6 to 12 months of the manufacturer's recommended work load. Then we completely refurbish it and deliver it to you looking like new. We will cover it under warranty for 90 days (which is as long or longer than a new copier warranty) and also get you set up with a local service provider for on going maintenance.

Q. How much money can we save by buying from you?

A. Our prices are typically 60 to 75% off the original retail pricing. And that's just the beginning of the savings. When buyers lease or purchase a new copier they focus on the price and then buy a service contract at the dealer’s list price. In many cases the service will cost more over the life of the copier than the original copier price!

After making a great buy on your copier from DCD we will also assist you in getting a competitive service agreement.

Q. Should we lease or buy our copier from DCD?

A. This really comes down to personal preference and timing. Since all of our copiers are previously owned, our leasing partners are maintaining little or no residual value in your lease. So, at the end of the lease you will be able to purchase the copier (if you choose to) for a nominal fee. If working capital is needed in your business for other projects or growth then lease your copier. Sure you will pay some interest but it is a business expense.

However, if you currently have the funds available to buy your copier today than consider doing just that. Perhaps you should buy it with a credit card and pay for it at the pace you choose. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

Q. Do you recommend purchasing a service contract?

A. Yes. A copier, like your automobile, requires regular maintenance. When you have a service contract, all of the services as well as the necessary parts will be included. If you do not have a contract, every service call will be billed by your provider at a relatively expensive hourly rate and your parts will be charged at retail prices.

In addition, we highly recommend that you purchase a contract which includes supplies. This is no only a convenience but is also a cost effective manner of purchasing your supplies. You would be responsible for all installation charges.

Q. Can you assist us with establishing a relationship with a service provider?

A. Yes we can. We have relationships with several national service providers that probably offer service in your area. We also have a database of service providers that we have established a relationship with. Please ask your sales consultant for assistance. You would be responsible for all installation charges.
